Aurora Marie Shoemaker, age 18, of Warsaw, Indiana was reported missing on August 16, 2012. Her remains were found on September 29, 2013in rural Kosciusko County. She was born February 14, 1994 in Mishawaka, IN to Todd A. Shoemaker and Lauretta A. Helblig-Shoemaker. Aurora attended Warsaw Community High School and home schooled through Penn Foster High School in Stranton, PA. She loved writing, art, welding, photography, walking/hiking, camping dancing with family and friends and mountain climbing. Her favorite vacations were in Florida, Missouri and South Dakota. Her family, friends and animals were very important and she loved them greatly. She had a heart of gold and was a very loving, caring and giving person. Survivors include her father Todd A. Shoemaker of Warsaw, IN; mother Lauretta A. Helblig of Ft. Wayne, IN; brothers Spenser W. Shoemaker of Warsaw, IN and Bryan S.W. Shoemaker of Ft. Wayne, IN; sisters Alyssa B Shoemaker and Anna O. Shoemaker of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandmothers Patricia M. Perkins of Bluffton, IN, Dianna J. Shoemaker of Warsaw, IN and Mara Helblig of Claypool, IN; uncles Randy B. Helblig of Ligonier, IN, William E. Helblig, Todd E. Perkins and David L. Perkins all of Warsaw, IN; aunts Denise Duck Jackson of Warsaw, IN, Patti A. Letherland of Sturgis, MI, Cheryl (spouse Bryan) Spratt of Silver Lake, IN, Jennifer (spouse Bryan) Ivey, Bobbie Jo Perkins and Kay Perkins all of Warsaw, IN and numerous cousins. Her grandfathers William E. Helblig, Sr., Gary W. Shoemaker and Norman L. Perkins; uncles Terry L. Perkins, James Perkins and Norman E. Perkins and her twin siblings preceded her. A memorial gathering and service will be held Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the Warsaw Parks Department Center Lake Pavilion. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with the arrangements.
