Alpha M. Wedrick Weirick, 104 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 10:55 am Monday, April 13, 2015 in her home. On March 26, 1911, she was born in Medaryville, Indiana to C.L. Newt and Anna Verelle (Winters) Faris. She was united in marriage to William R. Bill Wedrick on March 30, 1941, who preceded her in death in 1957. She then married Marvin Weirick in March of 1979, who also preceded her in death. Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, Alpha graduated from Warsaw High School, Class of 1929. She worked for Jet White Grocery Store for six and a half years and then worked for DePuy. She was a hostess at the Steer Inn from 1957 1965 then went to work for Champion Door where she retired in 1979. Alpha was a member of Warsaw First Brethren Church. Her passion was bowling and she enjoyed working crosswords. She was a big fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame Football as well as Notre Dame Girls Basketball. She is survived by her step son, Norman (and spouse Janet) Weirick, Warsaw; her step daughter, Barbara Landis, Warsaw; three grandchildren, Kent (and spouse Alice) Williams, Lapel, Ray (and spouse Patti) Williams, Pierceton and Lou Ann (and spouse Kevin) Courtney, Illinois; eight great grandchildren, Hayden Williams, Brody Williams, Andrea Courtney, Emma Courtney, Seth Williams, Faith Williams, Joy Williams and Luke Williams; two great-great grandchildren, Grace Williams and Caleb Williams. Alpha also was survived by her adopted family, Janice Johnson, Warsaw, Michelle (and spouse Chad) Osborn Harter, Warsaw, Danielle (and spouse Steve) McDonald, Warsaw and Michael (and spouse Faith) Osborn, Warsaw and many friends. Alpha was preceded in death by two brothers and sister-in-laws, Lt. Bernard Buck (and spouse Jane) Faris and Foster (and spouse Vera) Faris; daughters, Sarah Wedrick and Patricia Williams Hartzler; her step daughter, Betty Luersen; two nephews, Terry Faris and Tom Faris and her niece-in-law, Barbara Faris. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday, April 17, 2015 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastors Jack Worth and Howard Immel officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation hours will be from 9:00 11:00 am Friday, April 17, 2015 at the funeral chapel.
