Ada Jean Finken

Ada Jean Finken, 91 of Pierceton, Indiana passed away at 1:55 am on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City, Indiana. On May 7, 1925, she was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Thurman and Nellie (Birtwhistle) Busz. Ada was united in marriage to Carl L. Finken on November 4, 1947 in Orchard Park, New York, who preceded her in death on July 10, 1986. Living most of her life in Pierceton, Ada was a homemaker who loved to sew. She graduated Pierceton High School in 1944. She also enjoyed playing bingo at the North Webster American Legion. Her kids and grandkids were her life. She is survived by four daughters, Janet (and spouse Chester) Goodman, Pierceton, Brenda (and spouse David) Ott, Estero, Florida, Shirley Finken, Warsaw and Gayle Ewing and her companion Jon Ormsby, Pierceton; three sons, Carl Lee (and spouse Deb) Finken, Pierceton, John (and spouse Pami) Finken, Winona Lake and Mark Finken, Chapman Lake. Ada is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and twenty nine great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Paula and Maryann Finken; grandson, Chad Goodman; two sisters, Lois Sleighter and Mary Maxine Sleighter and five brothers, Thurman Busz Jr., Aldred Busz, Darwin Busz Sr., Norman Busz and James Busz. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 9, 2017 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton with Lew Collier officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton. There will be a funeral dinner provided by the American Legion Post #258, Pierceton, following the burial. Visitation hours will be from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in the Pierceton funeral chapel.
