Robert Lee Smith, Jr.

Robert Lee Smith, Jr., age 79 passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 8:45 AM in his residence. On April 12, 1932, Bob was born to Robert L. and Madeline Norah (Barthlow) Smith Sr. in Frederick, Maryland. He married Virginia Lee Lemmon on July 1, 1955 in Piqua, Ohio, who survives. Bob graduated from Frederick High School in 1951 and also Teletype Operators School for the U.S. Air Force in December of 1951. He attended University of Dayton in Ohio and Grace Seminary of Winona Lake. Bob was a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He was an accountant in Ohio for six years before attending Grace Seminary, Winona Lake. During this time he was employed by Uniroyal Inc. of Warsaw, Indiana where he worked for 28 years, retiring in 1997. He then was office manager for PS Products for six years, before retiring again. Also surviving are three daughters; Cathy M. Leedy, North Webster, Robin Lee Leffler, Muncie and Mrs. David (Susan K.) Wentzel, Scottsdale, Arizona. Two sisters Mrs. Earl (Connie) Funk, Atlanta, Georgia and Mrs. Alan (Beverly) Stull, Sedona, Arizona. Ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. There are no visitation and services planned. Burial will be at a later date. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is in charge of arrangements.
