Robert E. Garee, 84, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 11/7/2010 at 11:30 am at Miller's Merry Manor - Warsaw, Indiana. He was born on July 11, 1926 in Thomas and Esther (Bratt) Garee. Robert was a lifetime Warsaw, Indiana resident. On November 25, 11978 he was united in marriage to Debra Davis in Warsaw, Indiana. He retired from Zimmer, Inc. 1988 after 40 years as an Expediter in the Polishing Department. Robert faithfully served is country from 19444 to 1946 in the United States Navy as Mailman 3rd Class in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1126 and the Moose Lodge all of Warsaw, Indiana. He was commander of the VFW from 1972-1974 and 1984 to 1985 and served as National Aide-De-Camp in 1981 and State Americanism Chairman in 1982 and 1983. Robert also served as Drummer in both the American Legion and VFW Color Guards. He is survived by his loving family including his wife Debra Garee of Warsaw, Indiana; 2 daughters Sharon (spouse Walter) Shepherd of Columbia City, Indiana andDeborah (spouse Henry) Beard of Columbia City, Indiana and1 son Michael (spouse Ladell) Garee of Warsaw, Indiana.In addition, 3 sisters including Patsy (spouse Ronald) Johns of Mishawaka, Indiana; Leona (spouse Walter) Bukrajewski of South Bend, Indiana and Alice Conway of Mishawaka, Indiana.Furthermore, 8 Grandchildren22 Great Grandchildren survive. Robert was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister. Chaplain Tom Everett American Legion Post #49 will officiate the services. Military Honors will be rendered by the Warsaw American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars at Oakwood Cemetery. Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel - Warsaw, Indiana on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 10:00 am. Calling hours will be 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 11, 2010. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery - Warsaw, Indiana. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel - Warsaw, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
