Nancy Jean Prater passed away on March 3, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on April 24, 1962, in Warsaw. Nancy was a beloved
mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Nancy was the cherished daughter of Robie Prater Sr. and Donna J. Prater, who preceded her in death. Nancy developed a kind
and loving spirit that radiated warmth to everyone she met. She was a dedicated high school graduate and embraced her role
as a homemaker with grace and devotion, always putting family and loved ones first.
Although Nancy remained single throughout her life, she found companionship in her beloved dogs, Nazzy B Martha Rose
Prater, DJ, and Carmel. They were not just pets; they were her babies, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Nancy’s love for animals was only surpassed by her passion for arts and crafts, coloring, and her collection of dream catchers
and items that reflected her admiration for wolves and Native American culture.
A member of the Salvation Army Worship and Community Center in Warsaw, Indiana, Nancy was a go-getter and gave back
through her involvement in church activities and would lend a hand whenever needed. Her faith was a guiding light throughout
her life.
She was lovingly cared for by her cousin, David Hyde, for the last 20 years and a close relationship grew from that time
together. Nancy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her smile, compassionate heart, and
spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of her family and the warmth of her beloved pets.
Nancy is survived by her brother, Robie (Alma) Prater Jr., and her dear cousin, David Hyde, along with her favorite uncle, Stacey
Prater, her aunts Jo Ellen Senff and Esther Clevenger, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, whose presence
brought comfort and joy to her life.
A celebration of life will take place at the Salvation Army Worship and Community Center on Thursday April 24, 2025 from
