Nancy Ann (Boggs) Shoemaker, age 87, of Winona Lake, Indiana passed away Sunday March 10, 2013 at 11:03 PM in Grace Village Health Care Winona Lake. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 21, 1926 to Harry W. and Helen C. (Dale) Boggs. She was united in marriage to Tim Byron Leroy Shoemaker on June 12, 1948 in Warsaw, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2007. In 1937, she moved to Claypool and then after marriage she moved to Warsaw. Nancy graduated from Claypool High School, received her Bachelors Degree from Manchester College and received a Masters Degree from Ball State University. She then became a teacher and coordinator of the Art Department for Warsaw Community School Corporation, retiring in 1986. Nancy was a member of First United Methodist Church, a member and past president of Kosciusko County Convention/Visitors Bureau Board. She was also a member of Salvation Army Advisory Board, Kosciusko County Historical Society, treasurer of Kosciusko Retired Teachers, Mobile Meals, Eastern Star, D.A.R., Michiana Arts Council. She was a life member of Wildlife National, Arts-Lakeland, Historical Society, a Kosciusko County Foundation Scholarship Donor and a member of State Art Association Council. Nancy was also an Art Department Head at Warsaw Community schools for twenty years. She is survived by a son, Steven (and spouse Dee Dee) Shoemaker, Newburg; two granddaughters, Anne Shoemaker (and spouse Mike) McKim, Evansville and Meg Shoemaker (and spouse Tom) Little, New York, New York; two great grandchildren, Lily and Rory; a sister, Betty (and spouse Henry) Nyenhuis, Warsaw and a brother, Harry D. Jim (and spouse Joyce) Boggs, Warsaw. A special thank you to Nancys beloved niece, Kay (and spouse Jim) Ritter of Warsaw for all of their loving care. Her mother and father also preceded Nancy in death. A memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor LeRoy Wise officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 4:00 7:00 pm Friday, March 22, 2013 at the funeral chapel.
