Mildred Teeple Meadows

Mildred Teeple Meadows, 91 of Winona Lake, Indiana passed away at 7:50 am Thursday, February 21, 2013 in Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake. On February 21, 1922, Mildred was born in Chicago, Illinois to Fred Earl and Leora (Martin) Stookey. She married John Teeple in 1943, who preceded her in death in 1986. She then married Hilliard Meadows in 1991, who preceded her in death in 1995. Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, she worked as a registered nurse for McDonald Hospital, then Alfran and then Mason Healthcare Center, Warsaw. After Mildred graduated from high school, she graduated from Methodist Nurses School, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, Oswego, Melloaires and Widowed to Widowed. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the Senior Citizens Center. She also enjoyed playing piano at Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw and Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake, for many years. She is survived by a step-son, Gary Meadows, Winona Lake; four step daughters, Sandra Meadows, Burket, Kay Slone, Pierceton, Helen Streets, Elyria, Ohio and Terrie Hall, Pierceton; two brothers, John Stookey, Florida and Martin Stookey, Warsaw; one sister, Oma Eppley, Nappanee; two daughter-in-laws, Ann Teeple DeLong and Penny Teeple; eight grandchildren, Lisa Teeple, Krista (and spouse Kevin) Atkins, Angie (and spouse Robert) Dawson, Charlene Tillman, Bobbi Lynn Sexton, Tony Sexton, Darrin Teeple and David Teeple and several step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Mildred was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Robert and Ed Teeple; one brother, Robert Stookey; a grandson, John Edward Teeple and a great grandson, Logan Greene. A funeral service be at 11:00 am Monday, February 25, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church, Oswego, Indiana with Pastor Kirk Barger officiating. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery, Oswego. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 5:00 pm Sunday, February 24, 2013 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
