Mary Louise (Garber) Rowland, age 87, Burket, passed peacefully in her daughters home on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. after a brave battle with cancer. Mary was born on September 14, 1924 in Warsaw to Mary Mabel (Long) and George Paul Garber. On June 8th, 1942 she married Russell Ardean Dean Rowland. Mr. Rowland preceded her in death on September 17, 1994. Mary was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, she attended Warsaw High School. Mary lived in Burket for nearly 70 years, where she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, friend and known as Grandma Rowland to nearly every child she met. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, antiques, bingo and NASCAR racing. Mary was a member of the Warsaw Moose Auxiliary, the Eagles Club, Silver Lake Lions Club, and American Legion Post #49 Auxiliary, Warsaw. Mary is survived by her daughters Deana (spouse Garlie) Webb and Elaine Seeley, Burket, IN. A son Roger (spouse Sandy) Mayer, AZ. Two daughter-in-laws Alison Rowland, Palestine, IN; Dawn Rowland, Burket, IN. Mary is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, including one special granddaughter Lisa Marie whom she raised as her own, and eleven great grandchildren. Mary has three sisters, Virginia (Schue) Schilling, Nancy Paseka, and Ruby Jo (spouse Larry) Clark of Warsaw, IN. Mary also has two brothers George Paul Garber Jr., North Manchester, IN.; Dave (spouse Carol) Garber of Warsaw, IN. and a sister-in-law Donna Garber, Warsaw, IN. Mary was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, two sons, Terry Rowland and Rusty Rowland, one grandson Troy (Ault) Rodway, three sisters Georgia Miller, Emma Jane Atchison, and Lois Ann VanDyke, two brothers Gerald Garber and Frank Garber. Funeral services for Mary will be held Wednesday April 11th, 2012 at 11:00am at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Doug Lemon will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery, Palestine. Visitation will be on Tuesday April 10th from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm at the Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Family has asked for memorials to be made out to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 9102 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260-1860
