Marvin S. Clay age 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 1:45 a.m. at Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw. On February 28, 1929 Marvin was born to Cloice and Cleo (Parker) Clay in Burket, IN. On February 24, 1951 he was united in marriage to Shirley Wilson in Winona Lake. Marvin was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. Marvin attended Warsaw Wesleyan Church, Warsaw. He honorably served in the US Army after graduation from Warsaw High School in 1947. Marvin worked for the United Telephone Company as a self-contractor telephone cable splicer. Marvin also worked as a cable splicer for Hinkle McCoy as a private contractor and Marvin owned and operated Clay Cable Construction. After retiring from the telephone industry, Marvin owned “The Corner Laundromat” in Pierceton, IN. In his spare time, Marvin was an avid Notre Dame Sports enthusiast, loved bowling, enjoyed playing cards and gardening. Marvin was also the 1972 “D” Flight Club Champion at Rozzela Ford Golf Course. Marvin is survived by his children Lee Ann Galbreath of Noblesville, IN, Lana Neff of Sparta, TN, Lynn (spouse Bill) Leslie of Burket, IN, Lon (spouse Joni) Clay of Warsaw, IN.; Sisters Carroll Laney of Warsaw, IN, Marita Cox of Akron, IN, and Delores Ginther of Bremen , IN.; his brother William (spouse Paula) Clay of Warsaw, IN. Marvin is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan (spouse Jamie) Shirey of Warsaw, IN, Brandon (spouse Serena) Shirey of Noblesville, IN, Brent Bumgardener of Southern, IN, Brook Bumgardener of Denver, CO, Chanda Belk of Naperville, IL, Justin (spouse Stephanie) Leslie of Leesburg, IN, Samuel Richardson of Melbourn, FL, Cailin, Kylee and Courtney Clay all of Warsaw, IN. Marvin also has ten great grand-children. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, a son Lance Clay, one grandson and one great-grandson, along with his mother and father. Funeral services for Marvin will be held on Tuesday June 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Visitation will be held on Monday June 8, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Reverend Andy Weaver will be officiating the service. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Claypool, IN. Family has asked for memorial contributions to be made to one’s choice of charity.
