Lorraine B. “Lori” Brownell, 83 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 1:15 pm Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Warsaw Meadows Healthcare Center, Warsaw. On July 21, 1930, she was born in Brooklyn, New York to Arthur and Anna (Aahrens) Andrew. She was united in marriage to Richard Brownell on September 25, 1966 in Virginia. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2011. Lorraine attended college in Brooklyn, New York, where she received her Associate Degree in Nursing. She moved to Kosciusko County in 1975, where she was a homemaker and bred and groomed championship dogs, mainly Shepherds and Wheaton Terriers. She also enjoyed going to dog shows. Lorraine was a member of St. Annes Episcopal Church, Warsaw. She is survived by two sons, Craig Thomas (and spouse Tonna) Metcalf and Gary John (and spouse Susan) Metcalf, Melbourne, Florida; one niece, Judy Andrew, Spencer, New York; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Lorraine was also preceded in death by her parents, her son, Mark Allen Metcalf in March of 2000, her brother and sister-in-law Bob and Penny Andrew. There will be a private funeral service and visitation at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, and Pastor Denny Bollenbacher will officiate the service. Memorial contributions are to be made to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, P.O. Box 1906, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1906.
