Joyce N. Boggs

Joyce N. Boggs passed peacefully on January 11, 2024 at Miller’s Merry Manor Rehabilitation in Warsaw.

She was born the only child of Dorotha and Gordon Taylor on September 24, 1931. She attended school in Warsaw and was a proud graduate of the Warsaw High Class of 1949. She also attended Indiana Business College.

On July 8, 1951, Joyce and Harry D. (Jim) Boggs were united in marriage. They shared 65 years together. Their children, daughter Pamela and twin brothers Kevin and Kim made the family complete.

The family enjoyed camping and visited many state and national parks over the years. As adults, the children kept this tradition alive, visiting new places and seeking adventure in many ways with their own children and grandchildren.

Joyce enjoyed sewing and knitting and could often be found creating gifts for family and friends. She loved gardening, and took great pride in her blooming yard.

She rarely missed her grandchildren’s events, be it baseball, dance recitals, gymnastics, soccer, or volleyball. She loved sports, and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Indiana University basketball.

A life-long member of the Methodist faith, she so enjoyed her church family and Bible study group.

Joyce is survived by her daughter Pam (Bill) Kolter; daughters-in-laws Anna Boggs and Faith Boggs; grandchildren Brandon (Kelli) Hepler; Nate (Karie) Hepler; Jessica (Michael) Davies; Phillip Boggs (Holly Perkins); Loren Boggs; Autumn (Jonathon) Israd; Brooke (Nick) Huffman; Caylee (Shane) Kline; and great grandchildren Kendall Hepler, Kale Hepler, Eli Hepler, Isabella Davies, Finn Davies, Sebastian Boggs, Bronson Boggs, Brynne Huffman, Jack Huffman, and Jonah Huffman. She is also survived by two nieces and two nephews. They are her greatest legacy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 28, 2024 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Brian Smith officiating, at First United Methodist Church, 179 S Indiana Street, Warsaw. There will be an hour of calling prior in the church, beginning at noon.

Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
