Joann S. Whitaker

JoAnn S. Whitaker, age 75, of South Whitley, IN passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in her residence at 3:50 AM. She was born July 10, 1936 in Manton, KY to Lee and Nelis (Howard) Stephens. She was a resident of South Whitley, IN for 7 years and formerly resided in Burket, IN. On December 6, 1965 in Claypool, IN she was united in marriage to Aaron Richardson who preceded her. JoAnn was a Nurses Aide for Mason Healthcare and Rehabilitation Warsaw, IN. She attended First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County in Claypool, IN. She is survived by her step children Dallas Richardson, Darrell Richardson and Joyce Richardson; sisters Virginia Weber, Hanceford Layne; brother Rabin Stephens; 13 step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews great-nieces and great-nephews. Also, brothers Holt Stephens and Talmadge Stephens and sisters Thelma Miller and Hazel Yates preceded her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, IN. Calling hours are Saturday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.Pastor Terry Bradford will officiate the services. Interment will be in Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, IN.
