Gerald C. Mckelvey

Gerald C. McKelvey, 70 of Lake Worth Florida, passed away at 12:08 am on March 9, 2011 in Bethesda Memorial Hospital, Boynton, Beach, Florida. On February 14, 1941, Gerald was born to Norman and Gwendolyn (Dow) McKelvey in Chicago, Illinois. He had lived in the Warsaw and Pierceton areas for many years. Gerald married Patsy Briggs on May 9, 1958 in Crete, Illinois. He worked in printing, retiring in 1988. He then managed convenience stores for a few years after retiring from Donnelley's. He was a member of a coin collecting club and enjoyed repairing and racing motorcycles. He kept active doing various activities and hobbies. Gerald is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patsy McKelvey, Lake Worth, Florida; a daughter, Sara (and spouse Troy) Erichsen, Lake Worth, Forida; daughter-in-law, Melissa McKelvey, Davie, Florida; 7 grandchildren, Julie Winsett, Jeremiah McKelvey, Alexa McKelvey, Nicholas England, Naomi McCurdy, Jonell Fretz and Sommer England; and a sister, Sharon (and spouse Gerald) Greenwood, Iowa. he was preceded in death by his son, Lance McKelvey. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 4:00 pm at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. There are no visitation hours planned.
