Dennis Glenn Bailey

March 31, 1950 — May 21, 2024

Dennis Glenn Bailey,73, passed on from this life on May 21, 2024 after an extensive battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in the Houston, Texas VA hospital. He bravely fought to overcome this battle for eight months.


Denny was born on March 31, 1950 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to parents Ralph Junior Bailey and Lauretta Corrine Snapp Bailey, who both preceded him in death. He was the eldest of six children, all of whom reside in the area- Diann, Gary, Kerry (Becky), Bret and Bart (Becky). He was a beloved uncle and great uncle and had accumulated a circle of friends that he considered family over the years. Denny was a 1968 graduate of Pierceton High School.


In 1974 Denny married his wife, Susan. They are parents of Kyle (Kari) and their children, Kolton, Kord, and Kyanne of Kendallville, Indiana; Kurt (Laura), and their children, Kaden, Greyson and Ashlynn of Georgetown, Texas.


Denny proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam war from February 1970- October 1971. He was assigned to the 4th Infantry division and later the Americal division. Denny achieved the rank of sergeant and was an NCOI at the Patton Museum. He was very proud of the various medals he earned.

After leaving the service, Denny held various positions in sales and retired from Sprint after 18 years. Denny left Indiana to live in Tennessee and Texas, and most recently had spent six years traveling and exploring the United States.


He will be remembered for his love of life, family, country, and his desire to help and serve others. His sense of humor was enjoyed by many.


On June 28th Denny’s life will be remembered. A time to reflect will be from 11 AM-12 PM at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home in Pierceton. A short service will be conducted, followed by burial with military honors in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton. A Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends will be from 1 PM-3 PM at the American Legion in Pierceton.
