Darrell W. Boling, age 77, of Warsaw, IN passed away Friday September 9, 2011. He was born September 5, 1934 in Vigo County, IN to Roy and Mattie (Ellis) Boling. He was a Warsaw in resident since 1959. On January 2, 1982 in Indianapolis, IN he was united in marriage to Karen Hammons. He graduated from Blackhawk High School Terre Haute, IN in 1952 and Indiana State University in 1957 with a BA in Math. In 1957 Darrell entered the United States Army and faithfully served his country as an Intelligence Specialist E4-T at Ft. Holabird, MD until his discharge in 1959. He was employed by the Warsaw Community Schools from 1959 to 1990. He held the following positions, Math Teacher, Industrial Arts Teacher, Dean of Students, Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, Associate Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Schools. He received a MA degree in Math from Indiana University and an Administrative Certificate of School Administration from St. Francis College. In addition, he was employed by Lakeside Chevrolet from 1992 to 1994 as General Manager and CXR X-Ray Corporation from 1994 to 1997 as Assistant Technical Superintendent. He was a member of American Legion Post#49 of Warsaw, IN, Warsaw Kiwanis, the Retired Teachers Association and was private Math Tutor. He is survived by his wife Karen Boling of Warsaw, IN; daughters Kim (companion Doug Pifer) Cretcher of Warsaw, IN, Cindy (Spouse Tony) Elliott of Warsaw, IN, Daena (spouse Eric) LeFavour of Warsaw, IN; son Brian (spouse Melissa) Davison of Warsaw, IN; brother Don (spouse Barbara) Boling of Farmersburg, IN; grandchildren Shawn Cretcher, Cortney Elliott, Ryan Lowe, Brandon Elliott, Jack Lowe, Morghan LeFavour, Andrew Davison, Wesley LeFavour, Lucas LeFavour, and Jenna Davison. He was preceded by a sister Dixie Pound, a brother Roy “Gayle” Boling and his parents. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 5:00 PM at Warsaw Community Church Warsaw, IN at 5:00 pm on Wednesday September 14, 2011. Pastor Denny Wilson will officiate the service. Military honors presented by American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126 will the service at the church. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery will be private.
