Dallas Owens, 64 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 1:20 am Monday, June 29, 2015 in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. On September 2, 1950, he was born in Warsaw, Indiana to Butler and Annie (Whitaker) Owens. He was united in marriage to Patricia Newingham on May 27, 1967 in Warsaw, who preceded him in death on March 15, 2012. A lifetime resident of Warsaw, Dallas served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict as a Private First Class Gun Truck Driver in the 57th Transportation from 1970 – 1971. He worked for Archer Foundry and Warsaw Foundry as an iron pourer, retiring in 1986. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, National Rifle Association and the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Survivors include three daughters Missy (and spouse Charlie) Holbrook, Warsaw, Joni Owens, Warsaw and Julie (spouse John) Jeffries, Winona Lake; two sons Jody (and spouse Terry) Owens, Winona Lake and Dalis “Dewayne” (and spouse Holly) Owens, Warsaw; ten grandchildren, Dillon (and spouse Jackie) Holbrook, Etna Green, Chase Holbrook, Warsaw, Gage, Mason and Mollie Owens, Winona Lake, Sarah and Jaxson Jeffries, Winona Lake, Nicole (and spouse Kevin) Gayheart, Winamac and Trevor and Alyssa Owens, Warsaw. Dallas is also survived by five brothers and sisters, Maggie (and spouse Elmer) England, Warsaw, Valis (and spouse Janice) Owens, Warsaw, Dale Owens, Fruitland Park, Florida, Gale (and spouse Dana) Owens, Silver Lake and Evie Spangle, Columbia City. He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Murline Smith and Garna Bradford. A funeral will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, July 2, 2015 at First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with military honors by the American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1196, Warsaw. Visitation hours will be from 2:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dallas Owens Memorial Fund, C/o McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
