Belvia J. Shepherd, age 77, Sidney IN, passed away on Saturday, 24 August, 2019 in Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born on July 25, 1942 in Salyersville, KY to Edd and Betty (Howard) Allen. Belvia married Kenneth Shepherd on August 1, 1958 in Silver Lake, IN. She lived most of her life in Kosciusko County. She was employed with Singers Controls, retiring with over 41 years of service. She was a member of Free United Baptist Church State Road 13, Warsaw. She enjoyed shopping for collectibles and antiques, baking, cooking, church activities and she loved her family dearly. Belvia is survived by her husband of 61 years, Kenneth Shepherd of Sidney, IN, children; Brenda (David) Peyton of Monticello, IL, Marvin Shepherd of Sidney, IN, grandchildren; Ryan (Catie)Peyton of Farmer City, IL, Jennifer (Shaun) Peyton of Peoria, IL, Michael Peyton of Monticello, IL, great grandchildren; Palmer, Theo, Ensley, and Jackson, siblings; Avadean “Deana” Morrison, Robert Allen both of Warsaw, IN. In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by both of her parents. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Belvia’s Funeral Service will be held at the Free United Baptist Church located on State Road 13 Warsaw, IN on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Pastor Etsie Allen will officiate the service and interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, IN. Memorial donations may be made to Free United Baptist Church 7035 S SR 13 Warsaw, IN 46580
