Velma F. Spears, 68, of 1990 South Packerton Road, Warsaw, Indiana, died on 2/6/2010 at 6:34 pm at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was born on May 6, 1941 in Monticello, Kentucky.
Velma was born to Rouff and Bertha (Bell) Albertson. She was a lifetime resident of Warsaw. She married to Douglas Spears on April 21, 1997 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Velma retired from Bertsch Food Services and also worked as a Hostess for Dalton Foundries, Warsaw. She was a member of Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw. Velma is survived by her Husband; Douglas Spears, Warsaw, Indiana Daughter; Debbie Holaway, Fort Myers, Florida 3 Sisters; Mary (and spouse Ronald) Watson, Sidney, Indiana Barb (and spouse Buck) Kreis, Claypool, Indiana Linda (and spouse John) Elliott, Warsaw, Indiana 1 Brother; Roger (and spouse Pam) Albertson, Warsaw,Indiana 1 Brother-In-law; John Hicks, Sebring, Florida 2 Step-Daughters; Michelle (and spouse Doug) Mayhew, Warsaw,Indiana Rhonda Avery,Syracuse,Indiana 4 Grandchildren; Ashley Holaway, Fort Myers, Florida Erica Gonzalez, Oak Harbor, Washington Katie Avery and Brody Avery, Syracuse,Indiana 4 Great Grandchildren; Tyler, Kayla, Cole and Mya Velma is also preceded in death by a Sister, Wilma Hicks.
Services will be held at Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw, Indiana on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 10:00 am. Calling hours will be 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral chapel on Wednesaday, February 10, 2010. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, Indiana.
