Wayne, Indiana. He was born on May 19, 1940 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
Raymond was born to Odis and Ethel (Johnson) Shepherd. He lived most of his life in the Claypool and Silver Lake Area. He married Jayne Railsback on August 11, 1958 in Silver Lake. He was a farmer who owned his own dairy farm and was awarded the Most Outstanding Young Farmer Award in 1969. He was a member of West Eel River Church, Silver Lake and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them participate in lifes activities. He was also an avid fan of Indiana University Basketball. Raymond is survived by his Wife; Jayne Shepherd, Silver Lake, Indiana 2 Sons; Rick (and spouse Cindy) Shepherd, Silver Lake, Indiana Charlie (and spouse Marinel) Shepherd, Mentone, Indiana 1 Daughter; Jody (and spouse Bob) Surface, Mentone, Indiana Mother; Ethel Shepherd, Ligonier, Indiana 3 Granddaughters; Alison Shepherd, Fort Wayne, Indiana Laura Shepherd, Indianapolis, Indiana Karissa Surface, Mentone, Indiana 3 Grandsons; Brad Shepherd, Silver Lake, Indiana Tanner Shepherd, Mentone, Indiana Kenneth Surface, Mentone, Indiana 3 Brothers; Arnold Shepherd, Ligonier, Indiana John B. Shepherd, Ligonier, Indiana Don Shepherd, Ligonier, Indiana he is preceded in death by his Father; Son, Randy Shepherd and Brother, Riley Shepherd.
Services will be held at West Eel River Church, Silver Lake, Indiana on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ed French officiating.. Calling hours will be 3:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral chapel on Monday, January 4, 2010. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Claypool, Indiana.
